Nature is within

Impressio

Naturae

Impressio Naturae began as a collection of photograms featuring compositions of natural elements like flowers, grass, and other organic materials. These elements serve as a symbolic language, while the symmetry of the mirrored images represents balance.

Initially created on photographic paper in the darkroom, the concept of impressing nature evolved into clay, and then onto brass through patinas and engraving. The series culminates in a short video, animated using AI tools and editing software, bringing the photographic images to life.

The concept of 'impressing nature' taps into the idea that natural elements are deeply embedded in our unconscious minds. Neuroscience also supports this connection, revealing that our nervous system responds to nature, bringing a sense of calm and belonging. As we are intrinsically connected to the natural world, these symbols resonate within us, reminding us that we are, fundamentally, a part of nature itself. Nature nourishes both our bodies and souls, leaving an indelible imprint within us.
