Deus sive Natura
— Spinoza
The word 'Ka', which appears in my signature, is deeply rooted in ancient Egyptian and Indian spiritual traditions and carries a profound meaning. As my first word, used to indicate the light of a lamp, it has become my mantra, symbolising the human-divine creative force that inspires my work.
In ancient Egyptian belief, Ka represents a person's life force or spiritual essence, a vital component of the soul. It embodies the creative and intellectual energy that drives individuals to create, innovate and express themselves.
In Vedic traditions, 'Ka' has a profound meaning, often serving as a pronoun meaning 'who' or 'what', pointing to the mysterious and indefinable nature of the divine. It symbolises the ultimate, unnameable principle that permeates the cosmos.

In Hindu mythology, Lord Krishna, the god of protection, compassion, and love, enchanted all living creatures with the melody of his flute. The empty and hollow flute represents the purity and surrender necessary to allow the divine to flow through and create a melody that resonates throughout the universe. Krishna's flute symbolises divine love and harmony, with the man as the instrument through which the divine creative force flows - Ka.
The golden filaments of brass in my work represent this divine energy channelled through branching patterns omnipresent in the universe and symbolise our connection to all of Creation.
